WHO WE ARE

We are a voluntary collective of psychotherapists who first started meeting in 2020. We aim to further our knowledge of relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy and promote this therapeutic modality within and outside our practices. We meet regularly to discuss relational psychoanalytic ideas, publications, and talks, and to share and receive professional support. Our sister group is the Sydney Gold Coast Alliance for Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is by invitation only. Members wanting to invite new people to the collective must raise this in a meeting and a vote is then taken about whether to extend the invitation to a potential new member. The collective must be in consensus about extending an offer of invitation to a potential new member.

In order to be eligible for an invitation for membership, an individual must meet the following membership criteria:

1) Registration in Australia as a mental health professional

2) Appropriate postgraduate qualifications

3) Ongoing involvement with academia and an established publication record

4) Have been working in the field for a minimum of eight years

5) Work as a sole trader or own their own company

6) Currently be in their own therapy (or have had an analysis)

7) Attend individual supervision once a fortnight at a minimum

8) Have an established public profile

9) Demonstrate interest and experience in working from a relational psychoanalytic frame
